Most established brands have 15 to 50 years of heritage but never share it. Marketing shows products. But buyers ask: why this brand and not the competitor? Heritage is the simplest answer, if you know how to package it as a story.

A watch brand tripled ROAS from 1.6x to 4.2x with story-first ads (90 sec). Production cost per cut is higher (~3,200 EUR) but scaling robustness is significantly better.
When Story Hooks Do NOT Work
If your brand is 18 months old, you don't have heritage yet. Founder story (why we built this) works, but heritage story (we've been doing this for X years) does not. Heritage hooks are a format for established brands, not for brands still in the startup era.
